Combined Canthoplasty

FOURSEASONS · PLASTIC · SURGERY

What Is Combined Canthoplasty?

Lateral canthoplasty, which lengthens the eye horizontally, and outer corner lowering, which brings down upturned outer corners, are performed together,

making the eyes look larger and more open overall for a kind, soft-looking eye shape.

Combined Canthoplasty Procedure

It cleanly removes the tissue that can cause adhesion, meaning the chance of the eye re-fusing after surgery,
while causing minimal damage, so almost no red tissue is exposed.

  1. Photo with the incision line of the inner conjunctiva marked by a yellow dotted line
    STEP 01

    Incision of the inner conjunctiva
along the outer corner of the eye

  2. Photo with the direction in which the eyelid is lowered outward and fixed marked by a yellow arrow
    STEP 02

    Lower the eyelid outward
    and secure it firmly

  3. Photo with the outer corner widened to fit the eye shape marked by a yellow area
    STEP 03

Open the eye to suit its shape,
    then remove the remaining mucosa

  4. Photo of the outer corner after suturing, with no visible scar
    STEP 04

    Sutured inside the eye
    so no scar is visible

Surgical Method
Four Seasons Combined Canthoplasty
Eye photo with the outer corner widened by Four Seasons combined canthoplasty marked by a yellow dotted circle
Surgical Method
Incision at the outer corner
may leave a visible scar after surgery
Scar
Fixed inside the mucosa,
so no scar is visible
A simple skin incision
carries a risk of recurrence
Recurrence
Anchored to the periosteum inside the eye,
so recurrence is unlikely
Only the horizontal length of the eye increases
Effect
Widens both horizontal and vertical length
for large, open eyes

※ Results after surgery may vary from person to person, and side effects may occur.

  3. 03 Diagram showing that removing tissue inside the outer corner reduces adhesion Minimal adhesion Cleanly removes the tissue that causes adhesion,
a side effect of conventional lateral canthoplasty
  4. 04 Diagram showing minimal exposure of red tissue inside the eye Little red tissue exposure Minimal damage means
almost no red tissue is visible
