PRECAUTIONS

Precautions

General Information

If you experience any discomfort after surgery, please call the clinic.

Pre-Surgery Precautions

Please review these five areas before surgery: medications, clothing, meals, exercise/heat therapy, and alcohol/smoking.

Medications

  1. Please be sure to take your blood pressure, diabetes, and thyroid medications, including on the day of surgery.

  2. From 1 week before surgery, stop taking all medications that affect blood circulation, such as aspirin, joint medications, omega-3, herbal medicine, red ginseng, hormones, and painkillers. (These can increase bleeding, and heavier bleeding may cause more bruising and swelling.)

  3. Please let us know in advance about any past or current medical conditions and any adverse reactions to medications.

Clothing

  1. Please wear something easy to put on and take off, such as a button-up, shirt, or zip-up hoodie. We also recommend bringing sunglasses (except for nose surgery), a scarf, or a hat to cover your face after surgery.

  2. For eye surgery, if you have had eyelash extensions, please have them removed.

  3. Please remove gel nails, pedicure polish, nail polish, and similar products before surgery.

  4. If you wear contact lenses, please be sure to take them out before surgery.

  5. Please remove all metal items, including rings, earrings (metal piercings), and necklaces, before coming to the clinic.

Meals

  1. Starting 5 hours before your surgery time, you must fast, including water, gum, and candy.

  2. For surgery under general anesthesia, you must fast starting 10 hours before your surgery time.

Exercise / Heat Therapy

  1. Gym workouts, swimming, Pilates, golf, and similar activities are allowed from 4 weeks after surgery, so please stop them beforehand.

  2. For one month after surgery, you cannot use bathhouses, saunas, or Korean-style spas (jjimjilbang), or have your hair dyed or permed, so we recommend doing these before surgery. (For forehead lift and forehead reduction surgery, avoid them for about 2 months.)

No Alcohol / No Smoking
