AUTOLOGOUS COSTAL CARTILAGE

Autologous rib cartilage (chest cartilage)

Soft cartilage from the tip of the rib, taken from the patient's own body, is called autologous rib cartilage.

  • Harvesting It can be obtained through an incision of about 2 cm along the inframammary fold.
  • Areas used The cartilages mainly used in rhinoplasty are the 7th through 9th, which are the longest and straightest and are therefore the most commonly used.

Why use rib cartilage in revision rhinoplasty?

#Stays defined #even as time passes!

  • POINT 01 Diagram showing cartilage that does not bend even when pressed from above

Compared with septal cartilage or ear cartilage

    Firmer
  • POINT 02 Nose profile diagram showing the height of the nasal bridge being maintained

Doesn't sag, thanks to low absorption

    Sturdy
  • POINT 03 Nose profile with a rotating arrow, representing a nose undergoing surgery again

For revision surgery and contracted noses,

    Very effective

Won't it bend or become deformed?

No worries! Four Seasons reduces warping

Unskilled harvesting or use of rib cartilage can cause warping, in which the nose bends over time after surgery.

To reduce
warping

Based on long experience, we identify the right cutting position and the characteristics of the rib cartilage, and carefully shape it so that it does not bend.

By using your own tissue,
higher biocompatibility

#Fewer side effects #More reliable results!

From the bridge to the tip

    Strong support

    Natural, glamorous, or sharp:
    any nose line is possible

  • Diagram showing cartilage that does not lose height over time

    Compared with other autologous tissues

    Low absorption rate

    The line you wanted,
    maintained for a long time

  • Diagram of a nose seen from the front with a check mark

    By using autologous tissue

    Lower risk of infection

    Fewer foreign-body reactions and inflammation,
with enough tissue available to harvest
