Full Aftercare Instructions After Thread Lift

Pulling Sensation

  • If you've had Mint thread lifting, please wear the Ttaengkimi lifting band for one day, counting from the day of the procedure. After that, for one month, wear it outside of sleeping hours, for about 3–4 hours at a time. (Wearing it while you sleep or for long periods can impair circulation and cause more swelling, so please take breaks between wearings.)
  • If you've had Silhouette Soft lifting, you do not need to wear the Ttaengkimi lifting band. If Mint thread and Silhouette Soft lifting were done together, you also do not need to wear the band.

Care

  • For about one month after the procedure, avoid talking a lot, opening your mouth wide (for example, eating lettuce wraps), and tough meats. It's best to avoid hard, chewy foods whenever possible, as they may reduce the effect of the procedure.
  • For 2 months, avoid excessive facial muscle movement, laser treatments, meridian massage, and any strong massage, including touching your face with your hands.
  • Temporary bumpiness or dimpling at the treated area will gradually improve, so there is no need to worry.
  • After Silhouette Soft lifting, the position of the cones may shift and can cause some discomfort, but this is the settling-in period. For 2 months, please avoid forcibly moving the cones by touching them with your hands, and avoid the Ttaengkimi lifting band and elastic lifting bands.

Swelling

  • Swelling varies from person to person.
  • Swelling is at its worst for the first 3 days after surgery and gradually subsides over 2–4 weeks.
  • On the day of surgery, stay seated as much as possible and avoid bending your head down or lying face down. When sleeping, propping yourself up on 2–3 pillows helps reduce swelling and pain.
  • For one month, do not turn your head to the side or lie on your stomach while sleeping. It's best to sleep lying flat on your back.

Compresses

  • To bring down the swelling quickly, please apply cold compresses often after surgery. Placing an ice pack directly on the eyes carries a risk of frostbite, so please place thin medical gauze between the ice pack and your skin.

Face Washing / Shampooing

  • You can wash your face and shampoo from the day after the procedure.
  • For 3 days, take care not to let water, shampoo, etc. touch the wound area.
  • Dry your hair thoroughly so that moisture from your hair does not touch the wound area.

Suture Removal

  • Remove the gauze and tape the day after the procedure.
  • Stitches can be removed on day 3.
  • For one week after the stitches are removed, apply Neosiderm (Fucidin) with a cotton swab 2–3 times a day, using only a small amount, just enough that the wound doesn't dry out. Applying too much may cause the wound to become macerated.

Prescribed Medication

  • Be sure to take the medication prescribed by the clinic after surgery.
  • Painkillers such as aspirin, vitamins, red ginseng, herbal extract drinks, omega-3, propolis, and hormonal medications such as oral contraceptives may be taken one week after all treatment is complete.
  • If pain at the surgical site is severe even after taking the prescribed medication, you may take 1 additional Tylenol tablet (up to 5 tablets per day).

No Alcohol / No Smoking

  • To prevent infection, you must avoid alcohol and smoking for 4 weeks.

Makeup

  • On the day of surgery, simple sunscreen is fine, but please avoid heavy makeup.

Perm / Hair Dye

  • Perms, hair dyeing, and the like are possible from 6 weeks after surgery.

Exercise

  • Light walks help swelling go down faster.
  • Please resume all exercise, including golf, gym workouts, swimming, and saunas, only after 4 weeks have passed since surgery.
